Marina coast is an of the most popular destinations here. It runs for 14 km onward the shoreline of the metropolis. It is demanded apt be the longest beaches in India and second largest in the earth. The shore begins approach Fort St. George in the northwardly to Besant Nagar in the south. The stone statues are one of the major attractions for visitors on the roadside area of the beach.
You can watch numerous legendary statues there. Statue of Robert Caldwell, Constanzo Beschi, Truimph of Labour Statue, Kannagi, Subramaniya Barathiyar, Subhash Chandra Bose,Coach Backpacks Poppy, George Uglow Pope, Thiruvalluvar, Annie Besant, Bharathidasan, Sivaji Ganesan, Mahatma Gandhi, Kamarajar, M. G. Ramachandran, Avvaiyar, Thanthai Periyar
The beach is sandy and is a major passenger attraction since long. It is all popular for marts and food stalls. The memorials and statues, a.m. hike, joggers' pathway, lovers' speck, aquarium,Coach Leather Backpacks, etc., make it a hangout for folk of always ages. The sea is coarse and waves are lusty. There are fishermen colonies present by both ends of the beach. Bathing/swimming is unlawful at Marina beach and there are no lifeguards stationed here.
The Ice House (Vivekananda House) namely situated in the same zone, where the great recluse lingered for nine days in 1897. The Vivekananda House hosts Art/Painting exhibits about the life and mission of Swami Vivekananda, the ideologies of the Hindu Religion, etc. which form an attraction of the area.
