First of all, though, let's take a look at the world of mobile phones. What is going to happen? What devices are going to wow us?
Well, the first thing is sure to be mobile gaming. Despite being around for, like, ever, it's still really in its infancy, and has a looooong way to go to dominate the world. But steps are being made in the right direction with Nokia's N-Gage portal, and if Sony Ericsson ever get their finger out and make a PSP-Phone e with GPS, and if ever there was a feature that has 'win' written all over it, this is it! And then, of course, the convergence of mobile phones and data devices will keep on happening; you can already see it happening in recently-announced mobile phones like the Sony Ericsson X1 Xperia, which is frankly, just too powerful for words!
If you take a look at the evolution of mobile phones in 2007 Nike Air Flightposite ii, one thing's very clear: convergence is happening. You can actually see phones evolving, as new and better features are added to them. Following the traditional model of technology, they get added to the top-end handsets first, then gradually filter down to the middle ranks, and then hit the budget market. Essentially, what we're seeing is that phones that would have been classed as top-end in 2006 are now very, very nearly budget-range! And because of that, the top-end mobile phones have continued growing ever more advanced, ever more powerful. Take for example, the Nokia N82. It has a 5 megapixel camera, the latest Symbian operating system, HSDPA and built-in GPS. Just 2 years ago, features like that would have make our brains explode, but now, we are starting to take it for granted.
So, if that's becoming normal, what on earth is going to be called 'advanced' by the end of the year?!
The world in 2008 is becoming more and more mobile. As we move forward into the year Nike AirMax 2003, we live more of our lives wirelessly, not tied to desks or offices. So, what does 2008 have in store for us? What big mobile breakthroughs can we expect? Well, as well as mobile phones, the BIG thing this year will be mobile broadband.
But you see, the thing is, while mobile phones continue to get more and more advanced, another technology is going to shake up the world, and make our lives even more wireless. I'm talking about, of course, mobile broadband. Whether we're talking about a USB Modem that plugs into your laptop, or the glorious HTC Shift, a fully featured mini-laptop in a body smaller than a hardback book, mobile broadband is the future. There's nothing quite like getting online, getting the full internet without compromises, and getting it at proper broadband speeds up to 7.2Mbps, all while you're on the move. And, I hasten to add, without spending hours trying to hunt down a WiFi hotspot! Mobile broadband will take over the world. It's too cool not to!
