From the halcyon days of Manchester born Neville Cardus through to John Arlott and latterly David Frith, cricket has never been short of story-tellers and poetic writers who describe the game in such lurid and beautiful fashion. <br />With cricket there is also room for the poignant, with a tribute to a deceased cricketer from Lincolnshire, a serious tome on what county cricketers go through when experiencing a long lonely hard season, and almost seamlessly <a href="http://www.pumas.cc/puma-clyde" target="_blank" class="postlink">Puma Clyde</a>, a portrait of the troubled but gifted Somerset and England cricketer Marcus Trescothick. Most fascinating are also the reports of games and tournaments from far flung corners of the world not normally associated with the most English of sports. Botswana, America and even Brazil are countries that have been recently bitten by the cricket bug. <br />The website is generally easy going and allows the writer plenty of room to describe in detail the game of cricket as seen through their own subjectivity. Feedback is available from the aforementioned editors and proves to be useful and encouraging without being condescending or over-critical. Cricketwrite.com is a simple, clear and uncluttered project which gives an amateur cricket fan of any age and gender room to project their experiences of leather and willow. <br />The website was set up by three distinguished cricket writers; former BBC producer Roger Ryan, newspaper and radio journalist Sue Ryan, and newspaper sports editor Peter Steward. The aim is to get writers to send in stories of cricket, and also view their opinions and describe match reports. Contributions should be around 500 words and are free to send in. The site states that the aim of the website is to "celebrate the game and the writing surrounding it." <br />Cricket Stories <br />The stories are laid out on the side in the middle-right portion of the page and are easily accessible with a single click.
