An Introduction
Hello,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and thank you for your interest in Koronya. I am Marcell Mrsan,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], master shoemaker.
Sometimes people ask where the name Koronya comes from. I always enjoy telling them that this is the family name from my mother’s side. For generations, Koronya has been a family-owned leather goods business. More recently we have focused on producing handmade shoes of the highest quality. Inheriting a family business and this kind of heritage is something I consider to be a great responsibility. I must not only continue the proud tradition started before me, but must also carry these traditions and techniques into modern times to create new products for today’s demanding customer. And the customer’s desires must always be fulfilled, and surpassed,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]!
Someday, many years from now, I hope to pass this tradition and the techniques I have learned to the next generation of shoemaker…
My Work
My goal is to make the perfect shoes possible. Nothing less will suffice. As I mentioned, this is a family business, and my grandfather was a very strict man and I would be ashamed to produce anything that would not satisfy his extremely high standards. I want to make him proud and also to exceed my customer’s demands.
It is also very important to me that I help preserve the beautiful craft of shoemaking that I have been fortunate enough to learn. We don’t live forever, and I don’t want the secrets and techniques I have acquired to go with me to the grave. That would be selfish and is something too many other shoemakers have done. The craft must survive, and this is why I teach. It is definitely not as profitable as making bespoke shoes — trust me! — but there are some things on which you cannot put a financial value,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and this is one of them.
