Eureka traditionally has had some exceptional guest stars and this season is no different. In addition to tonight's appearance by Jamie Kennedy, the show will feature Star Trek: The Next Generation's Wil Wheaton and Battlestar Galactica's James Callis.
Does Paglia Have Dream Guest Stars?
Paglia explained why they are able to land the big names, "Having scripts that are polished and ready… early, that has all kinds of benefits. And one of them is that you get ahead enough in the game. Obviously your crew has more time to consider scripts on the creative level so that they can prep those episodes and make them look the best that they can. But it also gives you the option of actually going out to guest actors and having something that’s done and ready for them to see."
He also said that Lee Majors is high on the list confirming, "He is on my guest star wishlist. Actually he’s even on the wall in the writers’ room. He was one of the people that was considered for Sheriff Cobb in the pilot."

Why Did Eureka Cast Jamie Kennedy?
So who else would Paglia like to have on the series? He has an ideas for an actor to play Carter's father. He divulged, "In terms of some of my dream cast, I’ve always wanted to have William Shatner play Carter’s dad. That’s just me. I know that that’s a long shot probably."
Why Does Eureka Get Great Guest Stars?
Tonight's episode of Eureka on Syfy (directed by series' star Colin Ferguson) features a guest appearance by actor and stand-up comic, Jamie Kennedy. Eureka is known for having some big name guest stars. We spoke recently with Ferguson and series creator Jaime Paglia about working with Kennedy and Colins experiences as a director.

He explained that they cast Wheaton because [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], "Everybody on the staff loved Next Generation. And he’s good friends with some of our writers [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Amy Berg in particular. And we had the potential for this particular character that we thought would just be perfect for him. And was designed to be potentially recurring. And the plan is hopefully that is going to happen in the back ten episodes as well."
Since Jamie Kennedy is known as more of a comedic actor than a sci-fi guy, Paglia explained why he was approached to do Eureka saying [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], "Jamie Kennedy was a friend of Matt Hastings who is one of our co-APs… he’s also directed many episodes for us this season. And Jamie was a fan of the show and wanted to come over and play so we found a role for him that we tailored a bit more in terms of the personality, to him."
