Dr. Camille Wray (Ming-Na), the ranking civilian representative of the International Oversight Agency, senses the military are beating Dr. Rush, and is unaware of Telford’s treachery. Feeling left out of the loop, she tries to intervene, unsuccessfully.

Meanwhile, several of the crew throw Lt. Tamara “TJ” Johansen (Alaina Huffman) a baby shower. Chloe Armstrong (Elyse Levesque) surprises the expectant mother with a hand sewn baby t-shirt cut from an Icarus starbase t-shirt. Sgt. Hunter Riley (Haig Sutherland) presents her with a handcrafted toy truck which he offers to exchange if the baby is a girl. TJ appears overwhelmed by their kindness and later confides her concern to Chloe that the baby won’t have a normal life aboard. Chloe reassures her with a “What’s normal?” besides, they do at least five amazing things each week. Laughter, albeit nervous laughter, eases TJ's tension.
Young still uneasy about trusting Rush Nike Sweet Classic, accommodates Rush’s request to exchange bodies with Telford again so he can gather intel on the enemy Nike Free Run Men, which they surmise is the Lucian Alliance. Young engages the comm-stones immediately after Rush, in order to apprise General Jack O’Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) of the subterfuge and request a trail be put on Rush.
Dr. Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks) serves as the spy on Rush and follows discreetly with a camera and long photo lens. He is observing Rush’s attempt to infiltrate the Lucian Alliance when they take him hostage. Rush’s cover is blown and Daniel calls for back up to save Rush, but the Alliance uncloaks a Goa’uld spaceship and they escape the planet before anyone can attempt a rescue.
The Lucian Alliance’s contact for Rush is Kiva (Rhona Mitra) New Balance, who realizes he is not Telford when Rush fails to use the proper code upon contacting the Alliance. Kiva tortures Rush with Goa’uld alien devices in a brutal interrogation.

The Destiny Crew Throw TJ a Make-shift Baby Shower
Stargate Universe delves into the darker themes it touted at the start of the franchise in episode 18, "Subversion." The strained relationship between Dr. Nicholas Rush (Robert Carlyle), as leader of the scientists and Colonel Everett Young (Louis Ferreira Justin Louis), as military commanding officer, shifts to an uneasy peace. Rush has flashes of being on earth engaging with the enemy, which he determines occurred during the exchange of minds and bodies across the universe by use of the Ancient communication stones.
Rush deduces that while he was in Colonel Telford’s body, some of the memories of what Telford had done remained with him. It indicates that Telford was the mole, the one who betrayed the Icarus base, which resulted in half of the community dying, while the few escaped to the Destiny.
Back on the Destiny, Young, Lt. Matthew Scott (Brian J. Smith) and Sergeant Ronald Greer (Jamil Walker Smith) resort to torture of their own in order to break Telford, who is in Rush’s body. They beat and threaten Telford-in-Rush-body.
